Pakistan is among the world’s top ten remittance recipient countries. The transfer of remittances not only improves the socio-economic position of the families back home but at the same time it contributes to the developmental activities. In the case of the current locale, the role of foreign remittances was evident in improving the community situation by installing water supply and pavement of drains and streets. Although the development activities were initiated by the committee of villagers but with the prime help of migrants from the village. The current research was conducted in the Karrianwala village in district Gujrat. The data was collected from the heads of the left behind families whose at least one member is working abroad and regularly sending remittances to the family. The data was collected through the use of qualitative research methods such as; a) key informants, b) focus group discussions, and c) in-depth interviews. The result show a positive effect of the remittances on number of developmental activities in the village. The majority of the respondents took keen interest in the developmental activities in the village and sent remittances to complete these projects within time.
