Presentation abstract

Access to health involves more than having near a health center or hospital. According to the Comment 14 of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) ""access to education and information on issues related to health"" is one of the major determinants of health. The purpose of the research is to understand how public institutiosons can spread information on health in the indian community of Ihuatzio. By the legal framework of the information right and the right to health, as well as the experience gained by talking to women from the mexican community, Ihuatzio. Women should be informed about their health. The information must be clear and accurate , this does not mean that television commercials should be in indigenous languages ​​or translate leaflets, but involve people in activities to understand and explain the causes of diseases, through staff involved with the community and interested about learning their customs. Nowadays the messages emitted by public institutions responsible for providing health services wasted media and traditional media organization of indigenous communities; also, they does not produce ​​material focused on people living in rural communities campaigns.
