The main objective of the project Gestionando Personas (Managing People) is to generate continuous, meaningful and collaborative two-way learning, to and from students, teachers and people management professionals. This was achieved by developing virtual spaces consisting of an open facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1246862331997476/), a facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/Gestionando .Personas.ugestion /), a web page (http://material-docencia.pucp.edu.pe/gestionando-personas/index.php/login/) and a youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQRrzgZTa5jdEylLho-CC2A); where knowledge about people management could be shared and created, with the vision of educating students and professionals about the importance, impact and value of people in organizations. These virtual spaces were used as a teaching - learning strategy. As a learning strategy Gestionando Personas has a facebook open group were students are responsible for creating and sharing resources regarding people management; this is encouraged through programmed and evaluated activities for individuals and groups in people management courses at the School of Management in Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. The best resources from students are chosen by the courses´ teachers to be shared in the Fan Page and the web page; this constitutes a recognition to the students´ work and a source of motivation. As a teaching strategy, the virtual spaces are used by course teachers and other people management professionals to generate and share knowledge and information. The research analyzes the process of this project identifying: (a) the theoretical basis for its development, (b) the most critical elements for the design and implementation, (c) the impact on learning, (d) the changes in the role of teachers, (e) the competencies developed, (f) the generation of new knowledge for people management in Peru, (g) the conception of the project as a knowledge management initiative and, (h) the main achievements, difficulties and lessons learned. Finally, it presents a proposal of a model to include virtual spaces in management education.
