Presentation abstract

It is commonly known that the number of blind students are increasing more everyday. This is true for the higher education also. Above all classes, blind students faced the strongest difficulty in quantitative classes. This is especially evident mathematics courses. It is of critical importance that a lot of the blind students do not know the Braille alphapet. In addition, the mathematics courses are  taught in a notational manner. The combination of these two, are the most negative challenges to the blind students in mathematics classes. In this study, it is offered a new paradigm of math education and the teaching of the Braille alphabet through the distance education methods.
