Presentation abstract
Introduction. Education is important for linguistic diversity attention in our society. Specifically in the school environment teachers are increasingly faced with situations of language learning in multicultural and multilingual contexts. Education students need opportunities to cope with the complexity of languages and cultures. On this framework we present a project of linguistic support carried out through the methodology of learning-service in the Degrees of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education of the University of Navarra. The project involved 58 university students and 20 boys and girls between 5 and 12 years of age. Methodology. The article describes how the project has been carried out and the results of the evaluation are provided. A self-report was used to assess the perception about the acquisition of competences related to the academic dimension, the professional development and the social dimension of the students of Degree. A diary was used to collect learning from the participating children. Results and conclusions. The acquisition of contents has been increased along with some participatory competences such as decision-making, initiative and teamwork.
