Presentation abstract
In today’s world, each and every educator has the knowledge of the term literacy which can be defined as the ability to read and write. However, in the 21st century, this term goes beyond with the integration of technology and the Internet so not only students but also teachers are supposed to have a certain skill called "digital literacy". This term could be defined as the digital competence consisting of five dimensions; namely, finding, evaluating, utilizing, sharing and creating content using the Internet and information technologies. There have been several studies on how to implement digital technologies in the classroom or what teaching strategies could be applied for a digital classroom. This study investigates Turkish EFL instructors' digital literacy. As for the collection of the data, a paper based survey having items on the knowledge of digital literacy was implemented. Also, the participants of this study were randomly selected from a group of EFL instructors at a state university in Turkey. The quantitative results of the study were analyzed via SPSS and the mean scores of each item were calculated accordingly.
