Presentation abstract

With globalization, the pace of life has quickened and people have had to manage a large amount of tasks in a short period of time. This has inevitably caused some to take the information as it is without passing it through the test of accuracy and reliability. The fact that internet environments including the social media are in an easy reach of almost everyone makes it even more difficult to check whether all kinds of usage and sharings are ethical or not, which is valid for the education sector and the university students as well. This study aims at investigating the level of unethical behaviours of university students and the reasons of behaving so. It will also find out whether there is a statistically significant relationship between social media and unethical academic behaviors. For this purpose, correlational design has been chosen in which the students in a foundation university (n = 707) will fill in a questionnaire prepared by the researchers by making use of the related literature. Upon conducting EFA, CFA and related analysis, the results will be evaluated and solutions will be suggested for the betterment of the behaviors of the university students in terms of academic ethics.
