Presentation abstract

It is apparent that the internet-based and computer-mediated tools can be considered as the most recent step in the development of communication technologies. This rapid widespread has a deep noticeable impact on the way people worldwide interact and communicate. This means that they have brought about some changes in our social life and daily practices. This paper aims at highlighting some of the major benefits of computer-mediated communication in English language teaching and learning. A mixed-method approach was adopted in the study. Data was collected making use of a questionnaire and a writing task. The findings revealed that Moroccan university EFL teachers and learnres agree that CMC tools' use has a positive impact on students' writing skills and performance in terms of quantity but not in terms of quality.
