Presentation abstract

Both men and women visit Sufi shrines in a bid to accommodate their needs. In most of the case such visit are psychological charged in which the devotees are aimed at getting help from the Sufi figures to lessen their miseries of life. The shrine of Bari Imam is situated in the sub-urbs of Islamabad, only half a kilometer from the residence of Prime Minister's office. The current research was conducted as a part of course Religious Tourism enrolled at department of Development Studies in Pakistan Institute of Development Economics. The ethnographic research design was used with the help of focus group discussions, in-depth interviews and participant observations. The thick description was used to decode the data collected through the above mentioned methodology. The majority of the respondents mentioned that these are the daily life issues with compel them to visit such religious spaces to get accommodated their religious needs.
