Abstract Being successful with the dissemination mechanisms that are used within performing arts organizations is not always as effective. One of the solutions to this problem is the Content Industries. Although these industries have developed research to improve communication and dissemination of these investigations, they have not yet found an effective mechanism to this day. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to show a general context of the content industries, create a parallel between reality and the contributions that a cultural manager can have through analysis from experience. To do this, use the Web Tree of Science tool from a query in the Web of Science. The results are shown in the analysis of this type of economic activity, the recent evolution of the content industry and the general guidelines for public policies. In practical terms, the community managers of performing arts organizations can create high impact strategies using these methods.
