Presentation abstract

Wind energy is one of the most important sources of renewable energy and an excellent alternative for the transition to sustainable energy that  the word needs. One of the determining elements in the energy performance and efficiency of a horizontal axis wind turbine is: the propeller, whose correct aerodynamic design is essential in an efficient wind turbine. In this work, the calculation and simulation of the parameters that model the performance of the right propeller for a low power wind turbine working at an average annual speed of 4-6 m / s is made, using MATLAB® software to show the aerodynamic behavior of the blades and their main characteristics. The control system of the propeller seeks to maximize the power obtained in accordance with the objective of capturing energy with low environment cost.
