Research Problem
Engaging students is a continual problem throughout education specifically at the primary level of learning English as a second language. Nowadays, students are hard pressed in EFL classrooms due to a mismatch between teaching and learning styles may be the reason for lower engagement level and poor achievement of the Arab EFL young learners. From this point of view, it's aimed in the present study to examine the impact of NAVIO digital platform on enhancing students' engagement and achievement toward learning English primary course.
Aims of the Study
The use of digital platform in language education is an important area to focus on. However, its use is still new, and is emerging as a promising means of enhancing learning environment (Ozcinar & Ozturk, 2013).
The major aims for using NAVIO APP in teaching English are to enhance students' engagement and facilitate learning English by fostering active learning which lead to better learning outcomes.
Hypotheses of the Study
1- There is no significant difference between the students' engagement level in English of the control group and experimental group.
2- There is no significant difference in the engagement level between Boys and Girls of experimental group.
3-There is no significant difference between the students' achievements in English of the control group and experimental group at pre-test level.
4- There is no significant difference between the students' achievements in English of the control group and experimental group at post-test level.
5- There is no significant difference in the achievement between Boys and Girls of experimental group at post-test level.
6- There is no significant relationship in the achievement of students with respect to engagement of experimental group at post-test level.
Methodology of the Study
The researcher followed the experimental method. An experiment involves the comparison of the impact of NAVIO APP on experimental group with control group that with no treatment. Observation is used to determine what differences appear or what changes occur in the experimental group as contrasted with control group.
Sample of the Study
The sample consisted of 80 students who learn primary English courses as second language at Scientific Academy School in Palestine. The sample were divided into two groups namely control and experimental groups. In control group students learned English through traditional methods, whereas in the experimental group students learned English by using NAVIO digital platform.
