The Lenin's monument was erected in 1973. It was situated in the very center of ideal, communist quarter - Nowa Huta, which was build right after WWII. Monument played the crucial role as a place of communist ceremonies and anniversaries.The first attempt to destroy it was made in 1979 when the bomb was planted to blow the monument up. In the 80's the statue beacame a hated symbol of soviet domination and very often attacked by the demonstrants , members of oposition. After the fall down of communism the monument was removed and replaced to 'communist theme park' in Stockholm, Sweden.During the  short period of time the monumnt changed its role many times and even the non-existence in the querter is widely discussed. The presentation aims at illustrating a symbolic role of pieces of art in the changing historical circumstances using an example Lenin's monument.
