Sketching is a regular  activity  frequently takes place  throughout  the art and architecture  design  field,  and  it is  often  connected  to the design cognition.  Studies found that various skills and talents of sketching and drawing by a designer explores and produces many options as outcome to bring out  a good design for the benefit of society. This study explores the important factors which lead the designers to create sketches in the design process. Good skill in realistic drawings with scale and proportion, visualizing the narration and concept of a design product and analytical approach and problem solving design to a product are essential to produce a good design. This study highlighted the variations among the different types of sketching and drawing skills and the impact created in the context of Art and Architectural design. Relationship was found between sketching ability and the design output. Results pointed out those students with guidance resulted to draw and develop designs much better and able to givie solutions through the design in spite of many other factors influencing the design.
