Presentation abstract
This article proposes to approach the aesthetic movement Vaporwave by its visualities, making parallels with the already sedimented descriptions of the term by musicology, but not too developed on visual studies. The iconography evoked by the name Vaporwave has different functions and significances, therefore, we bring image references of the movement, as well compare with the appropriations made by enterprises and corporations that uses it in advertising motives. From an underground music genre to an amorphic aesthetic movement, Vaporwave here is unfolded through its visual core.
