The Belt and Road (B&R) is the abbreviation of “Silk Road Economic Belt” and “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. This is the international cooperation platform proposed by China in 2013 and has become a global public product that has received much attention. In recent years, China's two-way investment along the B&R countries has continued to deepen. According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the total investment of Chinese enterprises in the countries along the B&R has exceeded 100 billion US dollars. This shows that China attaches great importance to the construction of the B&R.The construction of the B&R requires not only the full commitment of the proponent but also the active participation and cooperation of major countries along the B&R. It is important to investigate the degree of participation and willingness to participate of these countries in the construction of the B&R. This study analyzes the mainstream media reports and Internet users' comments on B&R in these countries, and finds that the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Russia and Australia are the most concerned about the B&R. Furthermore, this study selects one representative mainstream media in these five countries as the research sample, collects news reports and netizens' comments on the B&R, and analyzes the attention and evaluation of the B&R. From the analysis of relevant data in 2013-2018, it can be concluded that the media and netizens gradually increased their attention to the B&R and their attitudes have become more positive.
